General
We offer three core service levels designed to suit different laboratory needs: Lite (preventative maintenance), Pro (maintenance plus calibration and certification), and Premium (full service, calibration, repairs included, spare parts included up to the maximum value specified in the Terms & Conditions, and lifetime warranty coverage for enrolled pipettes).
Data options include:
2x2 – minimum and maximum volumes tested with 2 repetitions at each volume.
2x4 – minimum and maximum volumes tested with 4 repetitions at each volume.
3x5 – minimum, midpoint, and maximum volumes tested with 5 repetitions at each volume.
3x10 – minimum, midpoint, and maximum volumes tested with 10 repetitions at each volume.
Yes. We service all makes and models, including single -channel, multichannel, manual, and electronic pipettes.
Mail-in services typically take 3–5 working days. Onsite clinics often provide same-day turnaround. Turnaround times may vary by region and service requirements. Please contact your local Gilson office for further information.
Complete a service order form and choose either a Back-to-Base service or an onsite clinic, where available. Minimum quantities may apply for onsite visits. Please use the Contact form to discuss your requirements.
Yes. Return carriage charges apply. Pipettes are typically returned using a tracked delivery service.
To process your service request, please include:
A completed and signed Decontamination Declaration Form.
A Purchase Order, where applicable.
A VAT Exemption Certificate, where applicable.
Please note that we cannot service pipettes without a completed and signed declaration. Missing information may result in delays.
Yes. We will contact you for approval before carrying out any chargeable repairs unless your service agreement already includes repairs and replacement parts.
Onsite clinics typically require:
At least 2 meters of vibration-free bench space per technician.
Two power sockets per technician.
An area free from excessive airflow and electromagnetic interference.
Minimum pipette quantities may apply.
Services typically include leak testing, functional testing, cleaning, preventative maintenance, replacement of worn components where applicable, gravimetric calibration, and service documentation.
Yes. We offer Good Pipetting Practice training and Pipette Service & Calibration training courses covering maintenance, component replacement, calibration adjustment, and gravimetric testing methods.

Manufacturer specifications are model-specific tolerances and are often more stringent. ISO 8655 provides internationally recognized, brand-independent Maximum Permissible Errors based on pipette type and nominal volume.
An accredited calibration complies with ISO 17025 requirements and includes measurement uncertainty and full traceability.
Gilson holds ISO 17025 accreditation for calibration services, complemented by ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certifications for quality and environmental management.
Yes. Accredited ISO 17025 calibration can be performed onsite when environmental conditions allow. Minimum quantities may apply.

Full ISO 8655 compliance is available within our controlled service laboratories due to environmental requirements. Onsite services follow recognized ISO 8655-based methodologies.
Gilson pipettes should be calibrated using gravimetric testing methods in accordance with ISO 8655 standards. For the highest level of accuracy and compliance, we recommend using an authorized Gilson service center.
Calibration frequency depends on usage and application criticality. As a general guideline, pipettes should be calibrated at least every 12 months. Laboratories operating in regulated environments or performing critical applications may require more frequent calibration.
